Come on out and join Cascade ACM SIGGRAPH & Wacom Technology Corporation
as they present;
Light Troupe, a
local Portland movement, exploring the boundaries of entertainment and audio visual simultaneous interactivity while drawing in the 4th dimension.
Intrigued?
For the programmers in the audience, Luz Studio, Open GL and Ruby will be discussed.
For the visual and audio artists in the audience, there will be an opportunity to play while interacting with the code the developers write on the spot! Wacom Tablets, Wilmotes and MIDI devices will be used as a means of interface.
That means you can expect to see 2D drawing in 3D space animated over time A demonstration with at least a 4-person, simultaneous drawing to be followed by live audience participation!
This is super fun stuff; computer graphics, music, animation, spontaneous creativity, happy excited people - come see for yourself and participate!

About Light Troupe
Light Troupe is a local collective of artistic and technical
talent projecting its visions through interactive brilliance. The
Troupe uses open source software and common physical devices
to engage and stimulate audiences and participants in new ways. When software developer, Ian McIntosh, met up
with artist Josh Fitzsimmons and designer Pat Coan, Ian was able to
fully communicate his visions of interactive audio-visual arts. The
group began to lay a foundation for concepts including an audio-visual
vocabulary and universal composition to create ground rules for
4-dimensional interactive art experiences. Together they explore the
possibilities of collaborative emergence. Through the contributions of
the artist and the designer, Ian was able to push the sophistication of
his tool-set to further accommodate a wider range of users and artistic
scenarios. After realizing the undeniable beauty of the their
creations, Light Troupe began to bring their art to public venues
for spectators and participants. Light Troupe has performed and
collaborated with several local artists in many venues in the Portland
area and continues to find an inspiring and altogether new experience
through the combination of visual, audio, interactive and social
sensations.
